The Polk County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man found in possession of over $5,000 worth of stolen mechanic tools after he was pulled over for driving under the influence.
On Thursday, October 19, 2023, a Polk County Sheriff’s deputy observed a man driving erratically after leaving a bar named Sips on North 6th Street in Haines City.
The suspect was driving a late-model pickup truck. Upon pulling over the vehicle, the Polk County Sheriff’s Deputy requested the driver’s license and registration, identifying him as Jeremiah Ditto. Subsequently, Jeremiah Ditto was subjected to Field Sobriety Tests (FST), which he failed, leading to his arrest on suspicion of DUI.
A thorough search of the suspect’s vehicle uncovered tools valued at $5,000, which had been reported stolen from a local resident’s home in Polk County.
Jeremiah Ditto faced charges of DUI and possession of stolen property.
